14/3/2011 Hi people Thanks to all those who joined in yesterday’s 2 man ambrose fun day There is a hope to make this type of thing a monthly occurrence on a Sunday The next of these events will be on Sunday April the 10th If you wish to sponsor one of these events or provide some prizes, please contact me (email is fine) email Any proceeds from these events, will be banked, then donated back to the club with the monies earmarked for certain course improvements e.g. directional sprinklers around the greens.

12/4/2011 Great event on Sunday with 27 pairs teeing off, tight at the top with Kent & Charles tieing with Ross & Kevin on 76 points, not far behind were Gerry and Wybo. A very successful day with everyone having a great day in the good weather.
The next Sunday event will be a 2 person best ball stableford on June 5, no event in May sorry as too busy with 3 rounds of pennants. Next competition poster - click here
25/5/2011 Our Division 2 team has in the weekend won the round robin in the Newstalk ZB Waikato Championship Pennants thanks in part to a loss by Thames to Putaruru in the final round but also thanks to the guys winning all their singles matches in the afternoon against Narrows to win the day 6 1/2 - 2 1/2 well done guys. Division 1 team have made the final and will play Lochiel at Lochiel which is a repeat of last years final, hopefully they have better luck this year and take out the title. Division 4 team have also made the final and will play The Narrows at Lochiel All 3 teams have a good chance of winning the finals, and will be an amazing feat if all the teams win. Good luck to all.

Finals all over, with the division 2 team being the only team from Hamilton to win in their final Well done to the team of Haydn, Gary, Matt, Fraser, Myself, Lee and Jeff winning 7-2 against Thames. Thanks to all the support from everyone throughout the year.
6/6/2011 Another good event yesterday with 20 pairs competing in good sunny conditions, Baz and QS ran away with the event winning by a margin of 5 stableford points with 47, they each won vouchers for the Hamilton Wine Company Jill had the nearie on 18 and also recieved a voucher. Runners up in best ball stableford comp were - Erica and Judith 42, Andrew and Alistair 41, the dobsons 41 and lois and gary 40, all recieving a bottle of wine each. A lucky draw was also had with Chris winning a Pumice Restaurant voucher Thanks for everyone making the event a success.

The next event is an individual stableford competition to be held on the 3rd of july, this will be held in conjunction with an interclub with Lochiel so that should get the numbers up and we will hopefully get 80 or more players. 1st prize is a stay and play golf package with a choice of about 10 locations to choose from, which will be excellent value from only $5 entry fee. 22/8/2011 Well been a few weeks, had another tournament on the 14th of August which was very successful with a turnout of 62 persons, the format was combined stableford in cold windy conditions which is possibly why the best pair only managed 72 points and scores went all the way down to 45!!! There will be another pairs event at The Hamilton Golf Club on the 4th of September, short notice but only day that was free in September. Format will be bestball stableford so get in quick to secure your spot. Price is the usual $5 per person with tee off from 11am - 12.30pm, open to men, women or mixed pairings, will be prizes for the top 10 pairings plus 3 nearest the pins and some lucky draws. 6/12/2011 Well, with work, getting laptop fixed(broke case) and golf I have been very busy, the tournaments are still happening every monthwith the next one being a four person teams combined stableford comp on the 18th of December at Hamilton Golf Club, should be plenty of prizes and a good fun day for all, you can book on www.golf.co.nz entry is only $5 per person.
